How to read these curves
Four things worth knowing before you quote a number from this page.
Year 1 is the newest car listed, not a showroom price
2026 for a trim still in production, 2020 for a Corolla GLi, 2019 for a Mehran. There is no MSRP in this data, so percentages answer “how much does this trim lose over its first N years on the road”, not “how much has it lost since new”. Hover any point for the model year behind it.
A faded, flat opening means no signal
Where a line starts pale and level, the curve is sitting on a clamp rather than measuring anything — either no priced listings behind those model years, or a noisy young segment that got flattened. Read those years as “unknown”, never as “this car holds its value”.
It's a snapshot, not one car's history
Every listing was collected inside one scraping window, so a curve compares a 2026 car against a 2016 car priced today — it does not follow any car through time. With PKR inflation, a car you keep loses less in rupees than this gradient suggests.
The fit, in one line
log(price) ~ b0 + b1·age + b2·age²
per model and variant, depreciation forced to increase with age, tails clamped to each variant's
observed range. Levels fit well; year-to-year steps are noisier. Switch on
